Lack of real-time information on available parking spaces leads to more time (and money) wasted while parking. The inefficiency gets compounded even more due to slow ticket-based parking entry/exit systems.

In the US alone, the inefficiencies in parking (such as driving around, looking for a parking space) end up wasting about 930 million gallons of gas and emit 18.6 billion pounds of carbon emission annually. This problem needs an innovative solution.
